The three new tug boats that are being built in Unión Naval de Valencia for Salvamento and Seguridad Marítima (Spanish maritime security) have recently been equipped with deck machinery by IBERCISA. These identical tug boats of 60 Tons BP and azimuthal Schottel propulsion :construction number C-484, C-485 and C-486; will be known in future as the ‘Sar Mastelero’, ‘Sar Gavia’ and ‘Sar mesana’.
‘Sar Gavia’ will operate in the North (Galicia); ‘Sar Mastelero’ in the South of Spain; and ‘Sar Mesana’ on the East cost (Alicante).
All the deck machinery is built by the company IBERCISA from Vigo, Northwest Spain. Within the package a towing winch combine for a chain of Ø26 mm, a waterfall towing winch with brake capacity of 160 Tons, and model MR-H/80/2/1000-48/1/IS, pull at first layer of 25 tons, an auxiliary winch and a capstan, both of 5 pulling tons, are included. The tug boats have been provided with an electric-hydraulic power-pack to drive all equipment.
Salvamento Marítimo will have 14 vessels in its fleet when these three are ready to sail.
